 Ek sit gewoonlik my vleis onderin en dan my groente (uie, tamatie, aartappels, groenbone, pampoen ens.) en strooi sommer die kruie en speserye oor en gooi dan water by.
 Ek sit hom dan op Auto (as dit vir more aand is, kan jy hom so 9 uur more oggend se kant aansit) dan maak ek die sous aan met van die vloeistof wat oor is en sit hom dan op high vir so 10 minute. Teen 6 uur more aand kan jy eet.

Meng 2 k. gekerfde groenbone, 3 middelslag aartappels in blokkies, 1 gekapte ui,
1 gekapte tamatie, 2e. margarien of 2e. room, sout en peper na smaak.
Bedek en laat prut!

PRUTPOT SKAAPNEK

6-8 skaapnek-skywe
200ml koekmeel, sout, peper en aromat
3 ryp tamaties in skywe gesny
1 groot ui in ringe gesny
100ml blatjang
50ml tamatiesous
200ml water.
Meng meel en speserye in plastieksak en skud die nekskywe daarin tot goed
bedek met meel en speserye.
Pak nou lae vleis, tamatie en uie in pot.
Meng die blatjang, tamatiesous en water en gooi bo-oor.
Sit deksel op en laat prut tot jy huis toe kom!

LAMSKENKELS HEEL IN DIE PRUTPOT

3 heel lamskenkels
10 ml olyfolie
20 ml Balsamiese asyn
vars roosmaryn
knoffel na smaak, heel of fyngemaak
3 groot rooiuie afgeskil en in kwarte gesny
1 blik heel tamaties (of tamatie en uie smoor)
sout en peper na smaak
1. Vryf die olie en asyn oor die skenkels en maak seker daar is 'n klein bietjie olie onder in die pot.
2. Plaas die skenkels op die bodem van die pot sodat hulle langs mekaar en plat le.
3. Gooi die roosmaryn bo-oor en plaas die knoffelhuisies oral rond in die pot, of vryf die fyn knoffel oor die skenkels na die olie en sit dan in pot.
4. Druk die kwart uie oral tussen die skenkels en pot in sodat dit teen die vleis le.
5. Gooi die tamatie en uiesmoor bo-oor die skenkels.
6. Gooi water (of aangemaakte aftreksel) oor die skenkels totdat die water amper die skenkels bedek. (Ek het aanmaak aftreksel poeier gebruik - van Ina Paarman die bruin uie en groente geur - en net bo-oor die vleis gestrooi voordat ek die water oorgegooi het. Seker so 2 eetlepels aftreksel poeier.)
7. Sit deksel op en laat prut vir 3 ure (of tot baie sag) op hoog.
8. Indien nodig kan die skenkels uitgeskep word en die sous verdik word met meel aan die einde binne die prutpot. Die hoeveelheid meel word bepaal deur die hoeveelheid sous, begin met 2 eetlepels, ek meng die meel met 'n bietjie sous en roer dit dan terug in die pot.
9. Bedien met bykosse soos fyn aartappels. rys, koeskoes ens en 'n slaai. Wortels en aartappels in die bredie sal dit nog lekkerder maak, skil en sny in verlangde grootte en sit saam met ander bestandele in die pot.

WENK VIR DIE GAARMAAK VAN BOUD IN PRUTPOT:

Wanneer jy 'n boud in die slowcooker wil gaar maak moet jy 'n pakkie uiesop onder in gooi en dan die boud insit.
Moet net sê dis 'n groot sukses, ek het lamsboud gebruik en manlief was mal daaroor.
Ek het dit gestop met knoffel en met sout en pepper gevryf en vir so vier ure op high gesit.
Na die eerste halfuur het ek 'n klein bietjie water by die soppoeier gegooi net om dit op te los.
Ek sal nooit weer 'n boud op 'n ander manier gaarmaak as in die slowcooker nie.

Braised lamb shanks with garlic and rosemary

Cooking Time: 6 hours on HIGH plus another 6 hours on LOW
Slow Cooker Size: 5 quart
There will be no leftovers. This recipe will make you fall in love with your slow cooker. Your house will be perfumed with the aromas of southern France. Enjoy!
Servings: Makes 6 servings.
Ingredients
1/2 cup dry red wine
2 heaping tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons kosher or coarse sea salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
5 to 6 pounds lamb shanks, not trimmed of fat
1 large, firm head garlic (about 15 cloves), separated into cloves, each crushed and peeled (see Note)
2 medium yellow onions, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 large carrot, peeled and cut in 1/4-inch slices
Finely grated zest of 1 large lemon
2 heaping tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
Preparation
In a small bowl mix the red wine, mustard, salt, and pepper and place in the insert of the slow cooker. Layer the shanks in the insert so they fit. Scatter the remaining ingredients around and on the shanks. Cover and cook on HIGH for 6 hours. Use tongs to reverse the position of the shanks, top to bottom. Reduce the setting to LOW and cook for an additional 6 hours.
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the shanks to a serving platter. Skim the fat from the cooking juices, taste, and add salt and pepper, if needed. Pour the juices over the shanks, and serve.

Ek het dit al gedoen. Berei boud voor volgens jou keuse die vorige aand. Dan seël jy die boud (m.a.w. braai bruin buite om in pot bo-op stoof). Plaas in slow cooker,met ongeveer 'n driekwart koppie water en laat rustig oornag kook. Jy kan ook 'n pakkie bruin uie sop onder in sprinkel en en die boud daarop plaas. Voeg 1 koppie water na 'n half uur by en kook verder.

Ek noem die net kookvleis
Ek vat so 2kg, sny dit in dun repies, smeer lekker in met bruin asyn.
1 x groot gekapte uie
1t x vars knoffel
1 x blikkie tamatie puree (groot blik, nie die paste nie)
1 x blikkie vol Rooiwyn
Kook vir 2 ure op hoog voeg nou die by:
1 x Groente blokkie
1t x Pietersielie/Origanum/Roosmaryn (net wat jou hart begeer)
2T x Worcesterous
2T x Chutney
1/2t x Rooipepper
1t x wit pepper
Kook vir nog so 2 ure of tot doeksag!
Ek sit altyd so uur voor ek bedien half gaar gestoomde groente en blokkies aartappels in en nog so bietjie water indien nodig (en natuurlik nog sout of geurmiddels)
Bedien met couscous en geroosterde butternut! Yummmmie!

Ons koop gewoonlik 'n lekker grote skaapboud (So R300), en dan le ek dit in rooi drywe sap, thyme, garlic, bietjie mostert, uie, wortels, celery vir so 2 dae. Dan sit ek dit ook in die slow cooker oornag op low, en so uur voor ons eet dan haal ek dit uit die slow cooker en roast dit in oond tot die vet lekker crispy is en bruin. Ek gebruik die sous van die slow cooker, ek gebruik somer 'n hand blender om alles te blend. Dan sit ek bisto by. Baie lekker. Ek moet se as 'n chef het ek altyd skaapboud in die oond gemaak maar nie meer nie. Die slow cooker maak die sagste en lekkerste skaapboud. Yummy

CHOPS IN THE SLOW COOKER

1 onion, chopped
3 T. tomato sauce
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 t Worcestershire sauce
Place into slow cooker and simmer about 4-5 hours. Serve with rice, noodles or potatoes.

Spicy Pork with Herbs

A spicy pork recipe cooked with a rich mixture of herbs and tomatoes slow cooker style.
1 tbs oil
1.4 kg lean pork cut into 1 ½ inch cubes
2 medium onions, peeled and cut into wedges
2 green peppers, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp seasoned salt
¼ tsp oregano
½ tsp pepper
2 tsp cider vinegar
1 can (450 g) tomatoes undrained
¼ cup water
2 tbs flour
Heat oil in skillet. Add pork and brown lightly on all sides. Transfer to slow cooker. Add onion, green pepper, garlic, salt, oregano, pepper, vinegar, and tomatoes to cooker, mix well.Cover and cook on Low 6-8 hours. Turn cooker control to High. Blend water and flour until smooth, stir into mixture in cooker. Cook and stir until thickened. Serves 10

Sweet and Sour Pork

Lean pieces of pork cooked in a sweet and sour sauce
1.1 kg lean pork cut into cubes
1 tbs soy sauce
½ cup white vinegar
1 cup brown sugar
1 ¼ cups water
1/3 cup water extra
¼ cup cornflour
Place pork in slow cooker. Mix brown sugar and first amount of water into a bowl. Add vinegar and soy sauce. Stir and pour over pork. Cover and cook on Low for approximately 8-10 hours or on High for 4-5 hours. Remove any fat which accumulates during cooking. Stir second quantity of water and cornflour together in a small bowl. Add to the slow cooker. Cook on High for 15 – 20 minutes to thicken.Serve with rice.

PEAR AND PORK CHOPS IN SLOW-COOKER

A pork chop recipe that contains pears cooked in brown sugar with lemon juice and a touch of ginger.
Ingredients:
6 pork loin chops, cut 1 inch thick
½ tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
6 thin lemon slices
12 thin onion slices
3 pears, halved and cured
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup water
2 tbs soy sauce
¼ tsp ginger
Method:
Brown pork chops on both sides in a skillet. Drain off excess fat. Put browned chops into a slow cooker. Sprinkle with salt pepper. Add lemon and onion slices. Put pear halves on top. Com bine brown sugar, lemon juice, water, soy sauce and ginger; pour over all.
Cover and cook on Low 6-8 hours.Serves 6

These boneless pork ribs are easy to prepare for the slow cooker, and they make a great everyday meal with potatoes and your favorite steamed side vegetable or tossed green salad.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 7 hours

Ingredients:
3 to 4 pounds country style pork ribs, boneless
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons Hungarian paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large onion, halved, sliced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup sour cream
Preparation:
Wash pork and pat dry. Combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in a food storage bag. Toss pork in the bag and coat thoroughly.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork and onions; brown for about 5 to 6 minutes, turning pork ribs once to brown both sides. Arrange the browned pork and onions in a 5 to 7 quart slow cooker. Pour chicken broth in the hot pan and scrape up browned bits; pour over the pork.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours. Remove pork and keep warm.
Pour juices into a saucepan and place over medium heat. Simmer for 5 to 8 minutes, until reduced by about 1/4 to 1/3. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream; serve the sauce with the pork.

1 sm. onion, cut up
3 boneless pork chops
1 pkg. brown gravy mix
Put in vegetables and onions. Lay pork chops on top. Mix gravy mix and pour over meat and vegetables. More water may added if needed. Cook on high approximately 4 to 5 hours until meat is real tender. Serve over rice or potatoes.- www.cooks.com

2 c. water
1 onion, diced

Dash celery salt, garlic powder, seasoned salt & pepper

3/4 c. lemon juice
3/4 c. chopped celery
1 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. wine vinegar
32 oz. bottle ketchup
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
Salt and pepper
3 - 5 lb. beef or pork Texas style ribs
In skillet, saute onion, celery and black pepper in butter. Add to crock pot with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours (high setting 3 - 4 hours). Sauce can be doubled and freezes well. – www.cooks.com
