GRANOLA BARS HOMEMADE

Homemade Granola Bars
Ingredients:

2 ½ cup oats
½ cup rice crispies cereal
1 cup raisins
½ cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
½ cup oil
¼ cup honey
½ tsp. vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:
Mix all ingredients well.
I start with a wooden spoon and then usually end up using my hands
Take your time to make sure everything is really blended.
Taking your time also allows the wet ingredients to sort of soak into the dry components.
If your mixture seems dry after mixing then you may need to add a little more oil and/or honey - a teaspoon at a time - until it starts to clump up a little.
Optional : add in chocolate chips about a cup full.
Now place/pressw on parchment paper on sheet or in baking pan.
You can either cook in one and cut after or try shape them.

Hier is een CarienSMULSTAFIES (12 stafies)
125 ml volkoringmeel
250 ml hawermout
1 ml koeksoda
125 ml klapper
125 ml bruin suiker
250 ml pitlose rosyne
150 g margarien, gesmelt 1

5 ml heuning

Voorverhit oond tot 180ºC. Smeer die bakplaat
Meng die volkoringmeel, hawermout, koeksoda,
klapper, bruin suiker en pitlose rosyne saam in 'n groot mengbak. Meng die gesmelte margarien en
heuning saam in 'n aparte bak. Roer goed. Voeg margarien-heuningmengsel by die droë bestanddele
en meng deeglik met 'n houtlepel. Druk die mengsel eweredig vas op die bakplaat. Bak 20 minute lank tot goudbruin. Sny in stafies terwyl nog warm. Laat heeltemal afkoel.

GRANOLA BARS
2 cups (190 grams) old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup (90 grams) unsweetened shredded coconut
1 cup (100 grams) sliced almonds
1/4 cup (30 grams) raw sunflower seeds
1/4 cup (30 grams) raw pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup (80 grams) dried apricots (diced)
1/2 cup (60 grams) dried cranberries or cherries
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons
(42 grams) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1/4 cup (55 grams) Demerara or light brown sugar
2/3 cup (160 ml) honey
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C) and place the rack in the center of the oven. Butter (or use a non stick cooking spray) and line with parchment paper a 9 x 13 inch (23 x 33 cm) baking pan. 
In a large bowl mix together the rolled oats, coconut and sliced almonds. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes, or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Remove from oven and transfer the oat mixture to a large mixing bowl. Stir in the sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, diced apricots, cranberries, salt, and cinnamon.
Melt the butter, brown sugar, honey, and vanilla in a small saucepan, placed over medium heat. Once the sugar mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for a couple of minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour over the oat mixture. With a large spoon or spatula, stir the granola, making sure all the dry ingredients are completely coated with the butter mixture. Pour the granola into the prepared pan and, with damp hands, lightly press the granola evenly into the pan.
Bake for about 20 - 25 minutes, or until light golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool for about two hours before cutting into bars. (Note: The granola bars will be soft when they are removed from the oven but will firm up as they cool.) Can be stored at room temperature for several days.
Makes about 12 - 4 1/2 x 2 inch granola bars

MUESLI BARS


Sjokolade en lekkers hoef nie jou eerste (of enigste) keuse te wees wanneer jy lus is vir iets soet nie. Muesli en vrugtestafies is ’n gesonde alternatief vir kinders en ma’s.

2 – 3 appels, geskil, ontpit en in skyfies gesny
60ml (4T) sagte bruinsuiker
100g amandels, grofgekap
100g sagte droë appelkose, fyngekap
80g pitlose rosyne of sultanas, gekap
200ml hawermout
200ml volkoringmeel
5m (1t) bakpoeier
30ml (2T) olie
1 eier, geklits

Plaas die appels in ’n kastrol saam met ’n bietjie water en laat kook. Bedek en laat prut tot die appels baie sag is. Dreineer en puree. Roer die bruinsuiker in en laat afkoel.
Voorverhit die oond tot by 180 grade C en voer ’n gesmeerde 18cm-koekpan uit met
bakpapier. Smeer weer. Meng die amandels, appelkose, rosyntjies of sultanas, hawermout,
meel en bakpoeier. Meet die appelpuree af en meng 250ml (1k) puree by die olie en eier. Klop
deeglik en voeg by die droë bestanddele. Meng goed en skep in die voorbereide koekpan.
Smeer dit egalig. Bak vir 40 minute. Laat afkoel en sny in stafies.

Muesli-stafies
deur Herman Lensing
(sowat 24 stafies)
• 140 ml heuning
• 150 g (190 ml) bruinsuiker
• 30 ml botter
• 50 g sesamsaad
• 100 g sonneblomsaad
• 100 g okkerneute, grofgekap
• 100 g rosyntjies
• 300 g (245 ml) hawermout
• 100 g 70%-sjokolade, gesmelt
Meng heuning, bruinsuiker en botter saam in ‘n mediumgroot pot. Bring tot kookpunt en laat stadig prut vir sowat 10 minute. Roer elke minuut om te voorkom dat dit brand. Voer ‘n pan (23 x 32 cm) uit met bakpapier en spuit met kleefwerende sproei. Verwyder heuningstroop van hitte en voeg sade, neute, rosyntjies en hawermout by. Meng vinnig en deeglik. Druk mengsel stewig in pan vas terwyl dit nog warm is. Sit bakpapier bo-op, gevolg deur nog ‘n bakplaat. Sit swaar items soos blikkieskos in die boonste plaat sodat dit stewig ondertoe druk. Laat mengsel afkoel. Keer uit en sny in stafies so groot soos jy verkies. Sit op afkoelrak en gooi gesmelte sjokolade in strepe oor. Laat afkoel. Bêre in lugdigte houers.

Die mengsel sal dalk droog lyk as jy die stroop byvoeg, maar dis reg. Meng net deeglik.

GRANOLA BARS
 Myne word met kondensmelk gemaak en is glad nie bros nie. Breakfast energy bars

½ cup (125 ml) desiccated coconut
½ cup (125ml) roughly chopped unsalted peanuts
3 cups (750 ml) muesli
1 can (385 g) Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk
Method: 
Preheat oven to 180˚ C.
Combine 2/3 cup (160 ml) dried chopped apricots, ½ cup (125 ml) desiccated coconut, ½ cup (125ml) roughly chopped unsalted peanuts, 3 cups (750 ml) muesli and 1 can (385 g) Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk in a bowl and mix well.
Press into a foil or greaseproof-paper-lined baking tray.
Bake for about 25 mins or until golden brown.
Turn out onto a wire rack.
Peel off lining and cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.
