Hard Chocolate Sauce

CDKitchen
6 ounces chocolate chips
1/2 stick butter or margarine
1/4 cup corn oil
In a double boiler melt chips and butter together. When melted, add oil. Pour over ice cream and it will harden.

n.s>I made this last night but microwaved the chocolate chips & butter for 1-1/2 min. Stirred well, then added oil. I did all this while my husband dished out the ice cream. It was extremely good and I definitely will make again.*Lekker Resepte vir die Jongergeslag*

Hard Shell Chocolate Sauce

1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or large bar of dark chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons coconut oil
pinch of salt
Heat the chocolate and coconut oil together in a bowl over some simmering water until smooth and fully melted. Remove from heat and stir in the salt. Let cool slightly and spoon over ice cream. It will harden after a few seconds.
Store any leftovers (ha!) in the fridge. Reheat as needed.* lightlycrunchy.wordpress*Lekker Resepte vir die Jongergeslag*

Caramel Sauce
http://lekkerreseptevirdiejongergeslag.blogspot.com/2013/11/hard-chocolate-sauce.html
1cup heavy cream
2cups muscovado sugar (OR 1cup dark brown sugar AND 1cup light brown sugar – this is what I used)
1/2 a vanilla bean split and seeded (or 1/2T vanilla bean paste)
1/4tsp sea salt
1tsp vanilla extract
Cook
light and dark brown sugar hearts, so cute!
Combine 1cup of cream, 2cups sugar, 1/2 vanilla bean (pod and seeds), and 1/4tsp salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil until the sauce thickens slightly (the recipe suggests 7minutes, but this was too long for me as the caramel hardened when it touched the cold ice cream.)
