HOMEMADE REDUCED BALSAMIC VINEGAR


Reduced Balsamic Vinegar
* Noshings*
16 ounces, fluid Balsamic Vinegar [500ml]
2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
1 pinch Salt
In a saucepan, whisk all the ingredients and bring to boil over medium high heat.
Then, turn down heat until you get a rapid simmer.
Whisk every now and again and keep an eye on it.
In about 15-20 minutes it will start to get all syrupy and resinous-looking.
Don’t let it get too thick on the stove because once you let it cool, it will thicken more. Take it off the heat when it starts to look like the consistency of warm honey.27/7/12

BALSEMIEK REDUKSIE TUISGEMAAK
Dié resep kom handig te pas wanneer jy onthaal.
Gooi balsemiekasyn in ’n kastrol.
Verhit die asyn tot kookpunt terwyl jy die heeltyd roer.
Hou aan met roer tot die asyn met die helfte ingekook het.
As jy ’n soet reduksie wil hê, voeg 15 ml suiker by terwyl die mengsel kook.
Haal die ingekookte mengsel van die plaat af en laat afkoel.
Gooi in ’n skoon, gesteriliseerde bottle.
